Thursday today, i.e. day 4 of my structured approach to studying this week. And yes, I must say: it pays off! The plan helps me to keep focused on what there is to do this week and also encourages me when I see what I have already done! Some of the key aspects regarding the plan however seem to be:
- firstly, that I collated the weekly study loads of all 3 courses I am currently doing in ONE plan. Before I had individual study calendars of each course, but this doesn’t work for me. It all has to assembled on one single A4 sheet to make it useful;
- secondly, that I printed it! Nowadays the OU doesn’t send out print versions of the study calendars anymore. Instead all is accessible online ONLY on the module website. For me, that doesn’t work AT ALL and I definitely need the printed version. I had therefore first printed the course calendars of each module, but it didn’t work (see above);
- thirdly, tick off whatever is done! The best part of having a “to-do” list if you ask me
!
This way I have already accomplished lots this week, despite a high workload of OUSA stuff recently going on, which is just FAB (!!!) but also takes up study time. Anyway, I am very satisfied with my progress till now and confident that I’ll have ticked off all of the remaining items on my study plan for this week, by Friday night
